Rugby Club
The Rugby Club is for students who want to learn more about rugby or
already enjoy watching or playing the fastest growing, toughest game on
the planet. Many of the Rugby Club members do play rugby with
Orca Rugby, but playing is NOT required
for full participation in the Rugby Club.
Rugby is a hooligan's game played by gentlemen (and gentlewomen!).
Rugby football is very fast moving with lots of running and kicking
(like soccer), but adds the exhausting explosions of tackling and
wrestling too! Good rugby requires each player to think quickly
and act decisively. Good rugby demands endurance, strength and,
above all else, intelligence.
The Rugby Club demands little from its members. The students meet once
a month to watch rugby videos and talk about rugby during lunch or toss
the rugby ball around. The Rugby Club may offer occasional off-campus
travel to watch local rugby matches. The Rugby Club offers its members
the opportunity to develop leadership skills in a friendly, small group
setting.
